Ministry Description
There are many opportunities for service in lovely Brazil. YWAM Recife’s ministry focus is to Children at Risk, bringing comfort, food and medical treatment to children who have been abandoned by their families. Many survive the pain of their days through sniffing glue - a heartbreaking site to see children as young as six left to fend for themselves.

The YWAM campus in Recife is in a key location to work with a large population of the very poor and often desperate people and children. YWAM Recife’s street team reaches out to the many children who live on the streets. Their principle objective is to receive children who are not able to go home, for a trial period, where the team will be able to see their willingness to adapt to a schedule and then go on to the Hope House. The Hope House is our home for street boys between the ages of 10 – 14. The goal is to reintegrate these boys back into their families and society, when it is possible. We also have a home for girls called Sarah's house. The LOVE Project works with girls and women.

Volunteers of all skills are greatly needed throughout the year at Recife. On going projects: The YWAM base is located in the middle of a poor community and right next to a slum. Seeing the need to provide a safe and healthy environment, we began to construct a wall around the YWAM property--something not uncommon in Brazil. One of the projects volunteers can help with is the continued construction of this wall. Volunteers with a heart for children can work alongside the full time YWAM volunteers ministering in the school and to the street children.
Needs
We have various different areas to serve in. Since our main ministries are to children at risk and community projects these would be the most needed. We also have different practical areas to serve with. Our property is 30 acres and half of that is jungle so there is lots of maintenance to do. http://www.jocumrecife.org.br https://instagram.com/jocumrecife?utm_medium=copy_link

About Our Area
A book we highly recommend you read before you come is "Cry from the Streets" from YWAM Publishing. If you're interested, give us a call and we'll see about getting one to you. Brazil is the largest and most powerful country in South America. It accounts for approximately one half of the land in the South American continent, has tremendous natural resources, industrial bases, and has a population of just under 210 million. Unfortunately many of these people live in poverty and spiritual darkness. Recife is a large city located on the Atlantic coast in the Northeast. Brazil is also well known for having one of the world’s largest populations of "street kids." Want to know more about what Brazil has to offer? About Our Area
Uganda is often described as the 'Pearl of Africa'. Here in Jinja, we enjoy temperatures of 20-28 °C all year around. Occasionally it reaches 30-32 °C for an afternoon but due to altitude, drops to around 17-20 °C at night. It rains throughout the year with two rainy seasons that are less predictable due to climate change.

There are a large variety of swimming pools and a wide range of restaurants serving African/Indian/Thai/Lebanese/Pizza/Somali food and much more. Days out can include relaxing by one of our many swimming pools, a guided walk in Mabira Forest, kayaking, stand up Paddle boarding, quad biking, horse-riding, bungy jumping, whitewater rafting, and visiting the source of the River Nile. Jinja is built on the edge of Lake Victoria where the Nile begins its long journey of more than 4000 km into the Mediterranean Sea in Northern Egypt.

Jinja is around eight hours or more from popular National Parks, but a two to three day Safari to either Murchison Falls/Queen Elizabeth National Park are firm favourites with many of our visitors. Also there is an opportunity to visit the Lowland Mountain Gorillas although permits are expensive.

There are many Retreat Centres where one can relax in comfortable, quiet and beautiful surroundings

Experience the beauty and charm of Costa Rica while you come to know Jesus better and help to make Him known. The YWAM Heredia base is located 12 miles east of the San Jose airport in the suburbs of San Rafael and 2 miles from the city center.

The base is on 6 beautiful acres at an elevation of 5100 feet with an average year round temperature of 72 degrees. The property allows for the development and efficient use of natural resources such as organic agriculture, livestock, solar and more. Training in the efficient use of natural resources allows these technologies to be taken to needy people in developing nations and elsewhere as a means to open doors for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

YWAM Heredia provides multiple training schools accredited by University of the Nations, with previous outreaches focusing on many countries within the Amazon, East Africa, and the Middle East.

We welcome you to join us on a short term basis of 1-3 weeks with a team for a short term outreach or as an individual mission builder up to 6 months with various ministry opportunities and projects. Volunteers work 30 – 40 hours a week depending on what is needed.

Ministry Description
YWAM Aruba was born out of dreams and visions that God gave to different people over the years. In 2009 a group of YWAM missionaries, stationed in Curaçao, felt God's call to start new ministries in Aruba. After they had started the YWAM Aruba foundation, they unfortunately had to leave the island due to not getting permits to stay long-term. But they kept on believing God had plans for Aruba. Since part of not getting permits was caused by not being able to read Dutch, they started to pray for a Dutch couple to come to Aruba. After almost ten years of praying, God called a Dutch couple, Erik & Hanneke de Kievit, to come to Aruba and start a YWAM base and ministries. In March 2019 they came to Aruba for a scouting trip, together with their two sons Ryan and Kai. In August 2019 the family of four settled on the island long-term and started pioneering the base and ministries.

Currently, our team is on the look-out for more staff members and mission builders to join us in helping fulfill God’s plan for Aruba.

Our mission: To help restore God's love in families.
Our vision: Healthy and strong families in Aruba.

YWAM Aruba is involved with many different ministries including:
  • Family Ministry,
  • Counseling,
  • Training,
  • Married Couples Nights & Marriage Courses,
  • Bible Summer Schools for youth,
  • Food distribution,
  • Project Jesus Rocks
Check out our website www.ywamaruba.com for more information.

AIRPORT CODE - AUA

About Our Area
The YWAM Aruba base is located in the middle of the island in the Santa Cruz area, just 15 minutes outside of the capital, Oranjestad. From our base it is a 15 minute drive to San Nicolas in the south part of the island, a 10-15 minute drive to the airport, a 20 minute drive to Eagle Beach and a 30 minute drive to the California Lighthouse, all the way in the North of Aruba.

Aruba is one of the four countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands, along with the Netherlands, Curaçao, and Saint Maarten; the citizens of these countries are all Dutch nationals.

Aruba has a dry climate and an arid, cactus-strewn landscape. This climate has helped tourism as visitors to the island can reliably expect warm, sunny weather. It has a land area of 179 km2 (69.1 sq mi) and is densely populated, with a total of 119,500 inhabitants at the 2020 Census. It lies outside Hurricane Alley.

About Our Area
Tourists come all year round, but our biggest influx is from late April til the end of September via cruise ships, airplanes and ferries. There are lots of recreational opportunities here including organized tours, hiking, kayaking, fishing, beach combing and more. There is a Rec Center with 2 pools, a sauna, exercise equipment, walking/jogging track, basketball and handball courts. We have an excellent library, museums and a movie theatre.

It rains 170 inches per year on average, and is often accompanied by wind, so a good raincoat with a hood are strongly recommended. An umbrella is generally useless.

Mission Statement:
"Youth With A Mission, St.Croix is dedicated to see the kingdom of God come to the Caribbean through training, discipleship, community outreach, and providing hospitality."

YWAM St. Croix has been operating at this location since 1989. We are located on a beautiful 5-acre piece of property formally called Diamond Ruby Plantation. This is a three-hundred-year-old facility consisting of the Great House (with swimming pool), several guest rooms, a two-bedroom house used as family housing, apartment building with 5 apartments, and various storage units and many ruins from the former plantation.

YWAM St. Croix typically hosts a January or September Discipleship Training School (DTS) per year as well as summer camps for children/youth. Individual short-term volunteers and teams are welcome to come and help. Many teams do work projects on the YWAM base, while others like to focus more on community outreach.
Needs
We are always in need of summer camp volunteers as well as those able to do masonry and skilled tradesmen. www.facebook.com/pages/YWAM-St-Croix-USVI/141186429251675?ref=ts https://www.instagram.com/ywamstx/?hl=en
