Ministry Description
YWAM Nordland is here to serve those around us. Below are several ways we work to contribute to our community and society as a whole.

Youth Work
One of our main focus is to invest in children and youth. A safe atmosphere allows them to be themselves and make good friends. We do this through camps and youth clubs in the community.

Local Ministry
We involve ourselves in our village and nearby communities by helping in schools, doing practical work, helping with events and encouraging local Christians who might be the only ones in their area.

Café Nordlys
In October 2020, we opened a café to serve our neighbours. The name of our café means "Northern Lights". We want people to see God in a new light and be awestruck by who He is. Our goal is to build relationships and create a place that brings life to our village.
Needs
We are looking for people with skills to help us with renovations and people willing to do practical work. Anybody enjoying garden and landscaping work is also welcome to join us during the Summer time.

About Our Area
YWAM Nordland is situated in a quaint little village, Røsvik, in Northern Norway. We are next to many national parks and a few hours from the famous Lofoten islands with their typical fishing villages, deep fjords and tall peaks. The county of Nordland is well-known for its surrounding natural scenery with steep mountains climbing straight from the ocean.

Because we are located in the Arctic Circle, during the summer, the sun is up 24/7 - phenomenon best known as midnight sun. The winter gets very dark which makes it the perfect time to experience the Northern Lights!
RV Info
Driving to YWAM Nordland is easy, due the possible usage of the known European route E6, which runs through Norway. To get to our base you only drive a 20 min ride a little north of Fauske. Driving in wintertime is not recommended. Summertime is a common time to travel with RV in northern Norway, and provides great scenery.

About Our Area
Since its incorporation in 1853, Kansas City has grown into a diverse metropolitan area of over 2 million people with a rich history embodied by its many slogans: the City of Fountains, the Paris of the Plains, Home of the KC Chiefs and Royals, the Heart of America and the Barbeque Capital of the World, to name a few.

At the confluence of the Missouri and Kansas rivers, the city spans the Kansas/ Missouri border. Early on, the railroad industry identified Kansas City as a crucial logistical hub after Hannibal Bridge--the first bridge to cross the Missouri River--was built in 1869.

Today, Kansas City is a major center for technology-oriented business and distribution. Kansas City also offers numerous cultural amenities including the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, the National World War I Museum and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

Ministry Description
University of the Nations Kona is one of the largest U of N campuses in the world and exists to train and send out YWAM missionaries to serve in all spheres of society. University of the Nations, Kona campus is home to a diverse network of ministries that support YWAM's mission to "Know God and Make Him Known" through evangelistic endeavors, training and mercy ministries.

Founded on biblical principles, the University of the Nations (U of N) fulfills its commitment to Christ and His Great Commission by equipping men and women with spiritual, cultural, intellectual and professional training, and inspiring them to both continually grow in their personal relationship with God while also seeking to make Him known among all peoples in all nations. The U of N employs a modular system with 12 weeks of classroom coursework. Some courses require field internships or field assignments in their area of study.

Some of the distinct characteristics of the U of N include: a live-learn lifestyle, intensive modular courses and immediate field application, a creative atmosphere in the classroom, one-on-one contact between staff and students, cross-cultural and multi-cultural training, and“Multiplier for Missions”. The University seeks to broaden the scope of evangelistic endeavors by equipping students to serve in all spheres of society and in all nations, being both ‘salt’ and ‘light’ to the world (Matthew 5). To achieve this, we teach students to think biblically, discern spiritually and apply scriptural truth to every area of life. The U of N offers Associate’s degrees, Bachelor’s degrees, Graduate Diplomas and Master’s degrees from its seven faculties. These faculties are: Arts and Sports, Christian Ministries, Communication, Counseling and Health Care, Education, Humanities and International Studies, Science and Technology. At this time, approximately 15,000 students are taking one or more registered courses in 97 languages, across 142 nations, in 600 locations each year.

University of the Nations, Kona owes much of its growth and substance to the work of short-term volunteers who serve in a wide variety of practical ways. Mission Builders have played a major role in making the U of N Kona campus what it is today. They serve the Kona campus in many ways, assisting with everything from carpentry and maintenance to food services, grounds keeping and secretarial work. These wonderful volunteers have found it's a challenging and spiritually refreshing experience -- and a great way to make new friends from around the world.

Those volunteers who would be interested in serving in the kitchen, housekeeping, grounds and other general logistical areas need to be able to serve for a full quarter, as you will come onto the campus as a part of the Kokua Specialists team for orientation and begin volunteering at the start of the new school session, and stay through until the school session has finished. It’s a wonderful, challenging and rewarding location to serve for those who have the time and ability to invest three months into this growing and dynamic training campus.

Kona only has beds for 110 volunteers in their Mission Building housing and often are hosting 150 volunteers at a time, so you can understand the need for consistency through the entire quarter! Professional construction workers can apply to serve at Kona at any time and for any length of time you are available. We are also looking for volunteers who are willing to work in our kitchen, and if possible, who could make a one-year commitment.

You will have numerous opportunities to interact with our staff and students at meal times, work and community events and to enjoy worship and teaching weekly on Thursday evenings with the entire staff and student body. Your weekends are free to explore our island paradise.
Needs
If you still have a child in you and enjoy kids, this is the right place for you! We need help in our preschool.

If you like detailed work, sorting things, and if you are a diligent worker, then the Mailroom could be your workplace.

This location uses a separate application process. Arrival and departure dates are specific for this location, and you must be able to fulfill a full term to serve with YWAM Kona. Ministry Description
YWAM Redding's vision is to train up revivalists to transform the Muslim world. Located in Redding CA, a city where revival is consider normal Christianity, we run multiple training schools all throughout the year and send outreach teams to some of the most unreached areas of the world. Our base directors, Jachin and Sarah, heard from the Lord in 2013 about pioneering a base focused on these areas and thus was born YWAM Redding.

The heartbeat of our base is centered on worship, prayer, and evangelism. Along with running schools, we've founded an initiative to get a Bible into every home in the Bay Area. We regularly send groups to cities like Fremont and Oakland to saturate neighborhoods with the Word of God, going door to door with Bibles and ministering to many.

Along with these great focuses, we are committed to living daily in healthy community with each other. We have weekly small groups, family nights, and worship times to connect with the Lord and each other.

There are many great ministries in Redding such as Bethel Church, Burn 24-7, and many local churches. We love to partner and facilitate unity with the greater move of God that's happening within so many groups and in so many places around the world.

About Our Area
Surrounded by mountains, Redding is a vibrant city in Northern California that's full of wonderful people. Our city is the perfect get-away for the adventurous at heart and offers many hiking trails, waterfalls, and swimming areas. You can't come to Redding without spending time at one of our local lakes or taking a road-trip to Mt. Shasta or Mt. Lassen (only an hour away) or the popular Redwood Forests.

Beyond the outdoor activities Redding has to offer, our city is home to many other Jesus-lovers who we have the opportunity to share great community with. Don't be surprised to be grabbing coffee in one of the local coffee shops and have someone give you a prophetic word or offer to pray for you.

Ministry Description
Our vision is to equip, train and commission people of all ages whose passion for Jesus will impact the needy and make disciples in the cities of Northern California as well as unreached people groups and developing nations around the world. We do this through life-changing training schools, outreaches, youth ministries, and serving and partnering with the body of Christ.

Our beautiful location at Richardson Springs, outside of Chico, CA, is home to a thriving Youth With A Mission training center with approximately 50 full-time staff.

We offer the following foundational schools:
The Discipleship Training School every September and January for ages 18 - 30, Crossroads Discipleship Training School for those 30 and over, single and/or single with children, this school usually runs in September, and the Family Discipleship School for married couples with or without children, this school traditionally begins in April.

In addition to these schools we also the secondary school, School of Biblical Studies, it is currently running on a 9 month course and begins in September. We have goals of offering a broader span of schools as the Lord leads and prepares the way.

An active place year-round, YWAM Chico is a great place to volunteer. There are always maintenance and operations jobs to work on, so bring your skills (and your RV, if you have one). Join the fun for minimum of 2 weeks or a maximum of 3 months. We can use whatever skills you have to offer! About Our Area
Located at the historic Richardson Springs, the hotel was opened in 1924. It hosted movie stars and Bay Area elite who came for a peaceful respite from city life and to enjoy the health spa atmosphere. Today, the gracefully designed hotel lobby welcomes you into a quieter time in our country's history.

Several mornings during the week our YWAM Chico community gather together to worship, hear a God inspired  messages from one of our Base Leadership Team members and spend time interceding for our city, state and world as God leads us.

We also have a wonderful coffee and gift shop where you can buy a delicious variety of coffee's, smoothies, snacks and apparel while relaxing and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The area is crisscrossed with hiking trails. The Indian Lookout, the Crosses and the water falls and reservoir are popular destinations. Other recreational activities include swimming in the beautiful pool, tennis, basketball, volleyball and ping pong. A barbecue area and bonfire pit are also available and are favorites with the young and old alike.

Ministry Description
YWAM Ketchikan is primarily a ministry of connecting cultures, with the purpose of mobilizing Southeast Alaska Natives into missions. It is about connecting cultures of tribal peoples for the purpose of advancing the ministry and message of Jesus Christ to unreached indigenous people through discipleship, training, raising the standard of excellence in leadership, and encouraging intimate relationship with the Lord.

Our hope is that there will be a release of young Southeast Alaska Natives into missions, sharing Jesus through their culture to tribal peoples around the world who await the news of the One True Creator - that they too can know and worship Him within the context of their own culture.

About Our Area
Tourists come all year round, but our biggest influx is from late April til the end of September via cruise ships, airplanes and ferries. There are lots of recreational opportunities here including organized tours, hiking, kayacking, fishing, beach combing and more. There is a Rec Center with 2 pools, a sauna, exercise equipment, walking/jogging track, basketball and handball courts. We have an excellent library, museums and a movie theatre.

It rains 170 inches per year on average, and is often accompanied by wind, so a good raincoat with a hood are strongly recommended. An umbrella is generally useless.
